Motivational Minute

Hello
Friends!
Here is a message of POWER and PASSION to get your week started with
ENTHUSIASM!
Please feel free to share it with your friends and associates.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to lose your sight or your
hearing? Being able to see the sun rise, hear the roar of the ocean and
enjoy the smiles and laughter of your loved ones are things we too often
take for granted. I saw a story on the news a while back about a man who
had lost his sight for fifteen years due to a degenerative disease.
Because of a breakthrough medical procedure, he was able to completely
regain his sight after all that time.
What an amazing feeling it must have been for that man to be able to see
what his children looked like for the first time in fifteen years. There
are probably not words to describe the feeling of joy and thankfulness
he experienced. I am sure it is a similar feeling to that of a person
being able to hear for the first time.
The Discover Channel recently had a program about a medical procedure
that would allow some people who were born deaf to be able to hear. The
piece featured a young woman in her early twenties who had never been
able to hear. After she had recovered from the operation, doctors put
ear phones on her. The film showed her reaction at being able to hear
for the first time.
Her eyes glowed with happiness and she began to cry when music was
played into her earphones. She was totally overwhelmed at the new
experience of hearing the sound of instruments. Both of these
people have an appreciation for their senses that most of the world
could never understand.
Do you appreciate all of the things you have in your life? It is easy to
think that we really "have it rough" but the fact is, we all
have much more than we might think.
A young man who had experienced what he considered huge setbacks in life
dropped
to his knees in prayer. He said, "God I just cannot go on. I have
too heavy a cross to bear". God replied, "My son, if you can't
bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then open that
other
door and pick out any cross you wish." The man was filled with
relief. "Thank you", he sighed, and he did as he was
told.
Upon entering the other door he saw many crosses, some so large the tops
were not visible. Then he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far
wall. "I'd like that one," he whispered. And God replied,
"My son, that is the cross you just brought in."
When you get stressed out, burned out and maxed out and you think your
life is too hard, be thankful for your health and the little things you
take for granted. When life seems like it is moving too fast,
watch the sun set, listen to some good music and allow yourself to
reflect on the gifts you have been given. Then think about what E.H.
Chapin said, "Every action of my life touches some chord
that will vibrate into eternity".
LAUGH-A-DAY
"Last night I played a blank tape at full blast.
The mime next door went nuts."
-Stephen Wright
"If you're sending someone some styrofoam, what
do you pack it in?"
"If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around
to see it, do the other trees make fun of it?"
QUOTE-OF-THE-DAY
"I don't know the secret to success but I do know the surest way to
failure is trying to please everybody."
- Bill Cosby
