Fun Facts about Michael
At
the age of 7, Michael was hit by a car. He flew forty feet in mid air and
was in critical condition. His right femur bone
(thigh) was broken in half and doctors thought he would never walk without a limp again.
Despite
doctor's doubts Michael made a full recovery, learned to walk again and eventually earned
his Certified Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do - a martial art known for heavy use of the legs
for high kicks.
Michael
has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Oklahoma State University.
Michael
is also a graduate of the Walt Disney World College Program.
In
1989 Michael was an opening crew member for the billion dollar Disney/MGM Studios. He did
"test and adjust" on all the new shows and attractions as well as contributing
to script writing and leading celebrity tours.
Michael
worked on the crew of the new "Mickey Mouse Club" television show aired on the
Disney Channel.
In
1990 Michael was a member of the Grand Opening Media Crew for Universal Studios Florida.
For
three years, Michael was a full-time stage actor at Universal Studios Florida.
Michael
was the Director of Acting at Barbizon of Orlando for 3 years. He created, wrote and
taught their 36 hour advanced television and film acting course.
Weathertime
TV 62 is the tourist weather and information channel in Central Florida that Michael
appeared on weekly for a year. He did the weather, entertainment reports and his weekly
"Motivational Moment".
In
1993 Michael backpacked through Europe alone with just a "Let's Go" travel guide
to lead him. His trip ended after four weeks when he was robbed outside of the Rome train
station.
Michael
has served as Master of Ceremonies for martial arts exhibitions, fashion shows and talent
competitions.
Michael
received the Outstanding Service Award for from the Central Florida Convention
Services Association. He also was voted as Best Speaker of the Year for the monthly
meetings.
In
1999 Michael was honored with the "Rosita Perez Spirit Award" by the Central
Florida Chapter of the National Speakers Association. This is an award given to a speaker
who best exemplifies the spirit of giving, dedication, commitment and enthusiasm to and
for the speaking profession. It is so prestigious that the chapter has opted to not give
out the award every year.
Michael was the 2000-2001 President of the
National Speakers Association - Central Florida.
Michael
has been married for eleven years to his wife Jo Etta. They have two wonderful children -
a ten year old son named Tristan Michael and a six year old daughter named Alexa Holly.
